Japan's population of active seniors is rapidly increasing

Sunshine Village Target Market

The demographic graphs below show that Japan is ageing dramatically. By 2040 it is projected that over 40 million people or 35% of the population will be aged 65 years and over.

Japan's rapidly ageing population is due to an increasing life expectancy and declining fertility rate. Currently, Japanese people enjoy the highest life expectancy in the world, remaining healthier for longer due to the nutritious Japanese diet, a comprehensive health insurance regime and a strong emphasis on regular health check ups.

All of these factors point to Japan being an ideal destination for Sunshine Village to introduce independent living retirement villages for active seniors.
