Sunshine Village Green - Miyota, Nagano

Sunshine Village has identified Miyota Town in Nagano Prefecture as a possible destination to construct and develop an "Australian style" retirement village. Many successful retirement villages in Australia are located close to urban developments or popular tourist resorts. Their locality tends not to be over developed with easy access to beautiful countryside where the village residents can enjoy a relaxed lifestyle. We see great potential in Miyota which exhibits many of these essential attributes.

Sunshine Village Green Presentation Video

This presentation shows the wonderful location of a large site of flat land with a generous coverage of trees in Miyota town in beautiful Nagano. Given its location next door to the tourist town of Karuizawa, and a short drive to Saku City, the development of a retirement village in this space will be of great appeal to its future residents.

Sunshine Village is delighted to enjoy support from the Mayor of Miyota, Mr Hiroshi Kozono. As many towns in Japan struggle with a decreasing population and employment opportunities, the council of Miyota have a desire to increase immigration to the region which creates a healthy economy.

Mr Kozono, a graduate of Tokyo University is very passionate about many of Miyota's hidden treasures and feels that not changing is a risk. New revenues are needed and Miyota is open for business.
